i kiss better than i cook

it was a "kirklands" moment.... walking into the home furnishing store and seeing this wall plaque:
... crystal, to the point, matter of fact, on display for all to see, read, get.
So this moment fell into my many recent moments of redefining, reclaiming, renovating my Self. Letting go of the old, assumed, unconscious, sticky stuff and remodeling with an authenticity that highlights the gifts of this temporary custom blip body.
And there it is.... I kiss better than I cook. I see your smile, what's the big deal? Yea ok, true.... however, I apparently carried around an expectation and was open to suggestion, criticism, explanation and self-negativity regarding this mundanity.
There are simply other mediums of artistic expression that offer greater resonance and passion... so cooking/ food falls to the bottom of the pot. I can enjoy and appreciate others' fine cooking.... but even that doesn't need to be a daily experience ;-)
Next question: In this domestic dakini's realm.... where does vacuuming rank? As a favorite for engaged mindful meditation practice ;-)

Help

Oh, me too. most of the time. I have a few surprise recipes, and in this day and age you'd think that the independent women around me would not bat an eyelash to know I *can* cook pretty well sometimes. So - while I can usually kiss better than I cook, cooking wins out for overall shock and awe effect. :)
Jake…. <batting eyelashes> not this woman: I'll take a man who delights in cooking and leave the *kissing* to me ;-)
awe shocks, ~ stacy :-X
ps. okkkkay, pretty cheesy but i'm in that kinda mood, and couldn't resist the play on ;-)
Great read, Stacey!
This made my day.
Pucker up, buttercup!
(as for vacuuming.. ya'll just need the right vacuuuuuuummmmmmmmm…….”
I think my statement in comparison would be “I draw better than I cook”
But my cooking is not that far behinde.
So if you want to get a feel for my cooking, just check out my drawings :-p
Anyway, a really pleasant read. Thanks for posting!
