She isn't the best mom, and she's not the worst. She *is* a great mom, and most importantly she is my Mom! (and I share her with 7 siblings ;-) Cheers to you Mama Joy... we traveled the road of Mommy, Mom, Mother to Mama Joy. Forever grateful and in love with you....
I too am a mother to 8 children, not all birthed by myself, but I love each as though I did. My ultimate goal is to hear that each of mychildren (as adults I am sure) believe I was the greatest I could ever be. Two are grown, and those were two I did not birth, but for mothers day, I did get that satisfaction of hearing how they are so greatful that their daddy married me. Both are grown girls 19, 20, and they told me they appreciated the fact that no matter what the kids have always come first. I fought for them even though I didn't birth them, and I gave them everything I could. That is the greatest satisfaction I could ever get out of life. Even though I want to be a doctor in psychology, this tops all degrees and anything I could ever accomplish in life.
Happy Mother's Day to you! My mom has 8 children, some of us biological and some of us adopted (and a few foster children in the mix as well ;-) She and my Dad are now raising a grandson, and they are approaching 70! Their enduring commitment, generosity, care, love, guidance and investment in our well-being, resourcefulness and happiness is awe-some!
It sounds like you are already being embraced, and told, that you are a Great Mom… I hope that you take it in fully and enjoy, celebrate! xo
